Medical Conditions

  1. Bookings are accepted on condition that students have no illness or infirmities that they do not mention and explain in advance.
  2. In the event of discovery of any serious health problem or contagious illness, mental or physical handicap not disclosed at the time of booking, or criminal or antisocial behaviour on the part of a student, Language Travel England reserves the right to terminate the course and repatriate that student at their own cost and without refund of fees.

Payment

  1. Full fees must be paid at least 4 weeks before arrival in the currency shown on our price list.

Transfers

  1. If transfers are booked, Language Travel England must receive flight numbers and arrival times at least one week in advance, otherwise the transfers are cancelled and non-refundable.

Cancellations and Insurance

  1. No refunds will be given for cancellation, accident, illness, loss of property or for any other reason.
  2. In the event of a legitimate medical or travel emergency, your course fee is protected. See below. Terms and conditions apply.
  3. Language Travel England subscribes all our students to a comprehensive medical and travel insurance called ________________. All our students are automatically covered, as the cost is included in your course fee. Please contact us for more information on what is covered. It is the insurance company who will process and decide on the validity of any claims.
  4. _____________ Insurance covers any person aged 7 years or more, but less than 70 years who has booked an English programme. All other students are not covered and MUST take out their own travel insurance.

Horse riding / Golf

  1. It is compulsory for anyone booked onto the horse riding or golf course to have personal accident insurance. This can be combined with your travel insurance.

Alteration Charges

  1. Alterations of date or course often mean cancelling one teacher / host family and finding another which will result in a fee of £150 in every case.

Liability

  1. Language Travel England only acts as an agent between its students and the host teachers / host families. LTE and any of the company's officers, directors, employees, or agents of any of them, exclude all liability and responsibility for any amount or kind of loss or damage that may result to a student including injury, damage loss, delay or accident which may happen during the student's stay with the host family, or as a result of activities they take part in during their stay, or whilst travelling to and from the student's home.
  2. Neither LTE nor the host family is responsible for students' personal possessions.
  3. It is an explicit condition of enrolment that students accept full financial responsibility for any damage caused by them to the host family’s property.

Complaints Procedure

  1. The English programme is supplied on the irrevocable condition that the student agrees that if there are any problems, they must be notified to Language Travel England during the stay.
  2. If we are not notified before departure, or the student signs the hour sheet 'satisfied' on departure, no complaint will be considered.
  3. The laws governing the provision of these English programmes shall be the laws of the United Kingdom.
  4. Where these Terms are presented in a language other than English, such translations are used for convenience only and the English language version of these Terms shall take legal precedence.

Tips for a Successful Stay

  1. We recommend that students bring at least £75 spending money per week.
  2. EU students travelling to an EU country are advised to procure the European Health Insurance Card.
  3. Please contact the host family / owner of where you’re staying by phone or email at least one week before your stay. We are keen to learn more about you, your food preferences, your level of understanding of English and your expectations of the stay. This will help us better prepare for your stay.
  4. If you have ordered transfers, please make sure we receive your travel details at least one week before your arrival so that we can organise the transfer for you. If you have not booked any transfers, please let your host family know your approximate time of arrival. If they have not received this information from you, they will expect you after 18.00hrs.
  5. All flights and travel documentation are the sole responsibility of the student or his / her parents if a minor. Language Travel England cannot accept responsibility for errors, mistakes or delays in relation to such documentation.
  6. Families in a foreign country may not have the same way of living you are used to at home. There may be different rules, the food will be different, as well as the living conditions. Please prepare yourself and be willing to accept cultural differences in order to get the most out of your stay.
  7. Please be aware that smoking is forbidden in public areas (bars, restaurants, etc.) in many countries. Most people who smoke in England will often do so outside or only in a specific area in the house, so please be aware of this.
